Marmot has announced that a large area of the hill that was previously out of bounds is being opened to advanced powder hounds.
Known as “Tres Hombres,” the 18 hectare chunk of north-facing slope is steep, treeless, and will boast Marmot’s longest, uninterrupted fall-line. Once all the required fencing and gates are in place and the avalanche safety team has issued the all-clear, Tres Hombres will open for the season.
Expert off-piste skiers and snowboarders will find five big runs spanning almost 700 metres (with a vertical descent of 367 metres) and enough chutes -- the steepest of which hits 45° -- to make any avid ski mountaineer weep for joy.
Although Tres Hombres isn’t open quite yet, Marmot Basin still boasts 86 named runs on four mountain faces with 3,000 vertical feet of drop. Snag your season passes now! Regular rates apply all winter, but you can save even more by purchasing the Marmot Escape Card for 50% off lift tickets all season, or by coming during Jasper in January, which will include tons of festivities off the hill too -- perfect for apres ski!
