Here in Jasper National Park we’re celebrating what we like to call the après winter season! It’s that perfect time of year where people in town are sporting their flip-flops and shades, while up at Marmot Basin, everyone’s still got their ski boots and goggles on.
With several events being hosted up at Marmot Basin throughout the month of April, you can continue to work on that goggle tan right through to May.
To get things started, this upcoming Saturday, April 16th, break out your Hawaiian skirts and coconut bras and take part in one of the most entertaining ski races of the season – the Aloha Cup!
With a non-traditional race course on the Tranquilizer run that includes banked turns, rollers, and small jumps, skiers and snowboarders of all ages will be left with their adrenaline pumping after each run. Participants will get two runs through the course each, with results determined on the single fastest run.
The cost of the race is $15 per person and includes a BBQ lunch! The race will begin at 10 am. Prizes will rewarded for the fastest run and best costume, in addition to tonnes of draw prizes that will be given away.
Now is the time to embrace the après winter season and join us as we ski all day, followed by a refreshing patio beer in the evening. Let’s make the most of these last few weeks of epic skiing!
