In March, winter's end starts to feel like it's peeking over the horizon. Don't let the snowiest season end without ticking off these bucket list adventures!

Pro tip: Skip the line to get into the national park by purchasing your Parks Pass in advance!

1 Skiing

If you haven't tried spring skiing yet, you're missing out. Ski with a warm sun on your face but plenty of pow beneath your boots. With barely any lift lines and an efficient, flowy layout to the entire hill and operations, skiing at Marmot Basin is a dream. And with the warmer temperatures, March is perfect for sipping an apres beer on their panoramic patio.

2 Maligne Canyon IceWalk

Walk the bottom of a frozen canyon, spy fantastical natural ice sculptures and experience one of Jasper's most fascinating geological wonders in a way that few people get to try. Tours provide crampons and expert guides to ensure safety. This month the canyon begins to melt so stay tuned for updates; tours generally accept reservations until end of March but this can change if the conditions shift.

3 Dining

March is still squarely in the season of comfort food. So set aside time to taste local chilis, Alberta meats, poutines and more at Jasper's unique and varied restaurants. From hearty mountain breakfasts to elegant alpine dinners for two, from friendly pubs to charming cafés, discover your new favourite spot to eat.

4 Sightseeing Tour

There are lots of landmarks around the national park that have been photographed extensively in summer. But what all these shutterbugs don't realize is that in winter, these iconic spots take on a whole new persona. Take a tour or explore on your own to places like Athabasca Falls, Maligne Lake, Pyramid Island, Maligne Canyon and more.
