Tying the knot in Jasper makes a momentous occasion even more magical.

But there’s some places in Jasper – like Maligne Lake or the Columbia Icefield – that are so magical that usually it’s impossible to have a wedding there due to the amount of daily visitors. But as certain travel restrictions continue in the wake of the world’s Covid-19 response, opportunities have emerged. For summer 2020 only, intimate elopement-style weddings are being offered at a few iconic Jasper locations.

One package, offered by Pursuit, caps each wedding at 15 people (that number includes the lovebirds getting married and the officiant).

For people who had to cancel their big weddings due to the pandemic or have simply always dreamed of a wedding in the Rockies with their nearest and dearest, this could be a terrific chance. Wedding locations include the following iconic spots in Jasper National Park:

Pyramid Lake Resort

Pyramid Island is one of the most photographed locations in the Rockies. With Pyramid Mountain looming behind, and Pyramid Lake Resort providing many chalet-style amentities, it’s a truly unforgettable spot for an intimate and memorable wedding day.

Glacier View Lodge

Take your wedding to the edge and say "I do" 900 ft above ground. Host your ceremony atop a glass-floored Skywalk overlooking the glorious Sunwapta Valley. Then, dine glacier-side and stay the night at the ultra-chic Glacier View Lodge.

Safety Promise

Pursuit has created an extensive list of safety protocols to ensure the health of you and your wedding guests is top priority. In addition to the limit of 15 people in attendance, venues will allow for 2-metre physical distancing. All Pursuit properties will enforce reduced capacity, rigorous staff training and communications, increased cleaning frequency and additional protocols.

The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is also offering an elopement package.

The offer is more tailored to a true elopement, with only you and your beloved in attendance. Starting from $1109, the package includes two nights accommodation, daily breakfast for two, ceremony venue, bridal hair and makeup, wedding bouquet and boutonniere, resort activity fee and 18% food and beverage surcharge. Fairmont will also provide a commissioner and witnesses, sparkling wine toast and wedding cake.
