Come explore the depths of this iconic Jasper canyon with the locals! Join Joy & Sean on a one of a kind winter adventure into Maligne Canyon's unique and mysterious karst system. You'll walk the bottom of a river that rages in the summer but transforms into a walkable winter wonderland every year!
This tour is 3 hours long and pickups are either 8am or 12pm. Your guide, Joy or Sean, will provide boots, ice cleats, helmets & hot apple cider for the journey. Make sure you bring warm clothes, a camera and a sense of adventure!
Icewalk season is December 1 – April 1. Generally, we can walk in to the Queen icefall by January 1st, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. We offer canyon rim walks as an early season tour prior to full freeze-up. Every season is unique and conditions vary from year to year; canyon season may be longer or shorter.
