We get to see a lot of shared images of Jasper, and we have to say: we are constantly astounded by the photographic talent we see from both locals and visitors alike. So we've started highlighting a few of our favourites every month on our website (see last month's picks here!). To have your photos considered, share them on instagram and include the hashtags #venturebeyond and #myjasper or tag @tourismjasper.
Here are our top picks from February.
People who only see Maligne Canyon in the summer are really missing out. In fact, the frozen waterfalls are so beautiful that blogger Chelsea Martin wore a scarf inspired by their aesthetic. Winter accessory goals!
Peek-a-boo! The snow-heavy boughs provide a great hiding spot for one of Jasper's most beloved residents. Don't let a moose's gangliness deceive you though—if they feel threatened their hooves pack quite a dangerous wallop.
In her caption of the above photo, instagram user @ldzi says she stopped to capture her friend tackling her favourite run at Marmot Basin. First tracks under a perfect winter sun? Um excuse us while we just sit here and sigh wistfully for awhile.
Stargazing is always magical, but it's made even more memorable when you do it with knowledgeable astronomers on the site of one of Jasper's most luxurious cabins - just ask photographer Argen Elezi, who recently visited Jasper and snapped this beautiful nighttime shot. The Icefields Parkway is one of the world's most scenic drives, and although it takes a bit prudent preparation to tackle in the winter, it is so so worth it. Just look at this photo from Ryan Resatka and try to deny the tug of adventure-lust within your heart, we dare you.
