Step into a working mural with Smug.
This is not a demo or a lecture. It is a rare opportunity to paint alongside one of the world's most respected street artists and become part of a permanent piece created during UpLift! Jasper Mural Festival Year 5.
Twelve participants will each take a dedicated 1 to 2 hour session on the back alley wall of Totem Ski Shop. Two artists will be on the wall at any given time, painting freely while Smug works beside them, offering real-time guidance, technique, and insight into his process.
Across the day, the wall will evolve through layers of colour, texture, and individual expression. Every mark matters.
Once all participants have completed their sessions, Smug will return to the wall and bring the piece together. Using a transparent black and white portrait layered over the existing work, he will unify the composition while preserving what each participant has created.
The final mural is a true collaboration. Your brushstrokes remain visible, embedded in a piece shaped and finished by Smug's hand.
This is as close as it gets to stepping inside the process.
