Some of Jasper’s landscape is healing. The park is full of new growth, but it’s also more vulnerable to invasive plant species than ever before.

You can help. Join the mission to track invasive plants and support Parks Canada in protecting Jasper National Park.

Join the Quest

  1. Download the iNaturalist app and make a free account.
  2. Learn about invasive plant species (ask for our invasive plant bookmark).
  3. Hike an official trail
  4. Take 10 photos of plants and upload them to iNaturalist.
  5. Visit the Visitor Experience Centre to show your photos on iNaturalist.
  6. Spin the prize wheel and win a reward!

Be a Responsible Explorer:

  • Stay on trails.
  • Do not touch or pick plants.
  • Use boot brush stations before and after your hike to prevent the spread of invasive seeds.
  • Complete a trail report to share what you saw and help Parks Canada monitor trail conditions.
  • Carry bear spray and keep your distance from wildlife.
  • Leave no trace.
