What Visitors Are Saying

An amazing evening, exactly how we imagined we would spend our time in Canada

Manchester, United Kingdom

We did the evening canoe trip [with Wild Current Outfitters]. Mike's enthusiasm was infectious... we learned things we would never have been aware of if we had just hired a canoe and set out on our own.

Dry Suit Orientation and Habbakuk Dive

Ottawa, Ontario

We definitely got started out on the right foot with Jasper Dive Adventures. If you're thinking about trying out a dry suit... or are just in the area and interested in diving, go for it.

“Set in a magnificent place”

London, United Kingdom

Chateau Jasper is spread out over a good area, beautiful in January but breathtaking in the summer, with plenty of wildlife.

Pyramid Lake Canoe Adventure

Wild Current Outfitters

Small group, unique canoe adventures that will leave you blown away by the numerous snow-capped peaks that surround the lake and the chance to see the wildlife that call the area home.

We'll take good care of you: canoeing to shore for homemade treats, hot drinks and summer day swims or autumn campfires.

Jasper's Lakes and Rivers

Check out our map of the most popular bodies of water in Jasper. Many have boat rentals or tours available if you don't have your own equipment.

Be Prepared

Wear Sunglasses & Sunscreen

The glare off the water can be blinding, and sends a lot of UV rays at unprotected skin. Add a cord to your sunglasses in case of a spill.

Protect Your Electronics

If you need to keep your electronics on you, use a dry bag for your cellphone and camera to keep them safe in the event of splashes or accidental dunking.

Check the Forecast

A seemingly sunny day can turn to a storm quickly. Check the forecast to make sure your water activities aren't disrupted by rain.

Out On the Water

Use the J-Stroke

Whether you're in a canoe or a kayak, proper paddling techniques are essential for moving around in the water efficiently. Learn how!

Play it Safe

Hopping in a boat for the afternoon? Make sure you've got a properly fitted life jacket. No matter how strong of a swimmer you are, a life jacket is essential when you're far from shore.

Alcohol Stays Home

Not only is it illegal to drink in public, alcohol will impair your judgement and reflexes. Keep the drinking to Jasper's restos and pubs.
