Follow alongside Small Rivers frozen waters by dog team through the beauty of winter and all it has to offer. This is a great hands-on opportunity to go deep into the heart of the Canadian Rockies.
Enjoy the crisp mountain air and the beautiful scenery that surrounds you while you warm up with a hearty trail side lunch cooked over an open campfire, hot apple cider and homemade treats. During this time you will have the opportunity to learn the history of the area and the dog sled sport as well as fuss over your new found furry friends.

A cabin awaits your arrival, 15kms up the Small River Valley. Here you will bed down and snack the dogs before settling in. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. Enjoy great food and good cheer in the main cabin or at the fire before retiring into your warm bed of blankets for the night.
Awake to the song of the huskies howl, water the dogs, and then enjoy your hot home cooked breakfast. Load up the sleds, harness your team and get ready for the sprint back down to the trailhead.
Participants are required to have had a big breakfast prior to arrival. We will provide a light lunch, dinner, a late night snack, hot beverages, and a hot breakfast in the morning. Guests may wish to bring their own additional snacks, beverages, clothing, swimsuit, towel, etc, in a small overnight pack. The cabin is fully equipped with a gas stove, fridge, cookware, fireplace, and bedding. Quarters are private if one couple, a group of six would share the main cabin. We expect guests to take part in the care of the dogs and preparation of the teams while on this tour.
Ascend 1000 vertical feet by dog team along a 100 year old trap line. This exhilarating 4 hour tour gives you a feel at how trappers and prospectors once explored this vast mountain wilderness. Warm up with a camp fire lunch at "Our Little Bit of Heaven" - a cozy log cabin alongside Small River.

This tour can be a little demanding physically as sometimes it is required we "break trail". Those who participate in this tour have the option to completely immerse themselves in all aspects of mushing. Take part in the watering, unharnessing and loading of our outstanding canine athletes after the tour!
This tour is great for large groups, families with young children, those who want a quick taste of dogsledding or those whom might be on a time restriction. Trip includes an introduction to the dogs, orientation on how we hook up the "team" and how to drive the sled.
Tour concludes with a hot beverage and homemade treats back at the trail head.
We can accommodate large (school groups, clubs, corporate incentive parties) running tours back to back and adding other options such as interpretive snowshoe hikes and a campfire lunch.
