Jasper's Travel Counsellors Take it to the Streets

Brand New Mobile Travel Counsellors Will Provide Adventure and Travel Information Via New Information Tricycle

Jasper, Canada (June 9, 2016) –

Navigating around Canada’s base of adventure is about to get a whole lot easier.

Beginning this summer, visitors to the real Rockies will be able to find the helpful Tourism Jasper travel counsellor team at the Visitor Information Centre, located at 500 Connaught Drive, and, for the first time ever, out in the streets of Jasper. Just look for the mobile trike under the big blue umbrella!

The brand new Mobile Travel Tricycle will be available at strategic sidewalk locations every day between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm during the peak months of June to August. Here visitors will find a member from the travel counsellor team ready to provide helpful information on Jasper’s best activities, attractions, restaurants, and accommodations.

“The idea of this project is to go beyond traditional services already offered to visitors by providing instant on the spot information, with a local touch,” Lety Cortez, Coordinator, Business Development of Tourism Jasper, says.

While explorers will still need to visit the Visitor Information Centre located in the historic log and stone house in the centre of town in order to complete any reservations and bookings, the mobile travel counsellors will be able to engage more with visitors on the ground in a timely manner.

Fawn Furlotte, VIC Supervisor and born-and-raised Jasper local, is passionate about sharing her love of her hometown with visitors.

“We are very excited to get our travel counsellors on the streets of Jasper,” Furlotte says. “Now we can connect to people on a whole new level. Visitors can learn more about Jasper as they are venturing around town before they even have to step foot in the Visitor Information Centre."

In a place as awe-inspiring as Jasper, it’s easy to see why the travel counsellors are happy and eager to help visitors from around the world. Friendly and knowledgeable, this team receives award-winning training to make sure that they’re as prepared as possible to help visiting explorers make the most of their time in this epic Rocky Mountain destination.

Whether it’s at the Visitor Information Centre or out in the streets of Jasper, the travel counsellors are there to help get visitors’ adventures started!

The Visitor Information Centre and Tourism Jasper would like to thank the sponsors, Rockies Heli Canada, Maligne Adventures, Maligne Lake Boat tours, Jasper SkyTram, and Japer Raft Tours, for making this project possible.
