Park Lodges Donates a Month’s Worth of Pet Fees to Support Service Dog Charity
Jasper, Canada (February 18, 2016) –
Everybody knows that dogs are a person’s best friend. In many cases, Fido is part of the family, which makes leaving him behind during vacations especially tough. This is why Mountain Park Lodges, a collection of hotel and cabin properties in Jasper National Park, goes out of their way to embrace four-legged family members.
“At Mountain Park Lodges, we acknowledge that family comes in all forms. Our furry friends are a huge part of some of our guests’ lives, and therefore they are a priority for us as well.” said general manager, Bernhard Schneider.
It was in this same spirit that Mountain Park Lodges decided to run a special promotion last December, pledging to donate a portion of the nightly pet fees to Dogs With Wings, an Edmonton-based organization that provides families with service dogs. The organization has a special local connection, as they recently connected Jasper’s Tiesenhausen family with a service dog named Uri.
“We are very grateful for the support of Dogs With Wings.” Said Connie Tiesenhausen. “I can't begin to tell you how Uri has changed our lives. He has given our family Hope! Hope that we can do things as a family, hope that our daughter will sleep through the night in her own bed and hope for the future!”
Schneider echoes Mrs. Tiesenhausen’s enthusiasm for the organization’s work.
“Dogs With Wings has made a huge impact on the quality of life for this local family in Jasper, and it’s with gratitude that we wish to show our support as well.” Schneider said.
At the end of the December promotion, Mountain Park Lodges was happy to pass along $2,675 to the organization.
All six of Mountain Park Lodges’ Jasper properties are proud to be pet friendly. From classic hotel rooms to rustic cabins, pets are welcome to stay with their families for only $15 per night.
