Springtime usually heralds in the season of gin and vodka. Combining fresh, muddled fruits, like raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, lemons, and limes will make your cocktails pop.
Mike Day, owner of Evil
Dave’s Grill in Jasper, uses soda water to give
effervescence to his cocktails while letting the fruit flavours come through. For
sweeter drinks, he adds either simple syrup or a splash of citrus soda. To add
an additional savory dimension, he infuses his spirits with fresh basil or mint.
After straining the leaves from the spirits, he builds his cocktails with fruit
and tops them with soda.
