Venture Beyond the Stars this October at Lake Annette

On Friday October 20th, join us along the shores of Lake Annette for one of the most memorable star-gazing experiences in the world.

From 8:00 - 11:00 PM, enjoy a variety of free, intimate and interactive programming with TELUS World of Science–Edmonton, the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada-Edmonton Centre, Dark Sky photographers, Mackenzie Brown with Warrior Women, Parks Canada interpreters and other special guests.


HOW DO I GET TO BEYOND THE STARS?


There will be a complimentary shuttle service provided. Please note that there will be no parking permitted at the event.

Starting at 7:30PM, shuttles will run every 15 minutes from the Visitor Information Centre until 10:45PM. Return shuttle service will commence at 8:00PM and run every 15 minutes until 11:30PM.

Royal Astronomical Society of Canada - Edmonton Centre

Participate in the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) Edmonton Centre's "Discover Your Universe with the RASC"—a FREE admission event—and enter a chance to win a Celestron FirstScope Telescope! Visit the RASC information tent at the site for more details.


Telus World of Science Edmonton

The Telus World of Science Edmonton will have telescopes and science activities related to light and optics set up for this evenings star-gazing event. 


Dylan Toymaker

Dylan Toymaker is an artist based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Having worked his way through a variety of Craft- and Community- based practices, he currently focuses on lighting design, lantern art, and light sculpture. You can engage him to light up a space as small as your bathroom, or as large as a week-long multi-stage festival, as permanent as your street lights, or as temporary as a Lantern Walk.


Laser Tour of the Constellations with Parks Canada

The stars have been the source of our stories for thousands of years, inspiring myths and legends still known today.

Starting at 8:00 PM, Join Parks Canada’s Brian Catto on the shores of Lake Annette for a laser pointer tour of the stars and celestial features. A fun introduction to Jasper’s night sky.


Warrior Women

Warrior Women was founded 15 years ago and is composed of Matricia Brown and Mackenzie Brown. A dynamic mother daughter duo whose haunting melodies and harmonious song writing will give you an experience of a lifetime.

Warrior Women write and perform songs written in both English and their native tongue, Cree. Matricia and Mackenzie offer performances ranging from educational performances in schools with children and youth, to traditional crafting classes, to relaxing atmospheric drumming shows offered to people of all ages.
