History lives here

We’re not like other resorts. In fact, Jasper was a working railway town before it was a tourist destination.  The home of proud First Nations, settled by pioneers and free spirits in search of a dream.  They all found a piece of paradise, and carved a brave new world out of this breathtaking wilderness. Their stories still captivate and inspire us as much as they will you. 

Our tight-knit community has evolved over the decades into the kind of place where the locals are the experience.  Real mountain people.  If you ask nicely, we might even let you stick around and become one.

Timeless, not trendy

Nobody has ever accused us of being hip, politically correct or glamorous. Here, the stars are in the sky, not on the streets. There are no shows at 2 or 4. No gimmicks. And no grand gestures. Just the way we like it.

What you will discover instead is a return to simplicity in a place of immense beauty wild animals and welcoming locals. The only tough part is sometimes telling us apart.

Jasper time

Your fancy city watch might not even work here. Why? Because Jasper is a rare place where things change at Mother Nature’s pace, not Man’s. Where taking the path less traveled rewards you with an authentic, eclectic experience unlike anywhere else. We’re not on the main road, the main route, or even an hour from the nearest airport. But the journey is worth it. That, we guarantee as surely as a grizzly loves fishing.

Here’s the really good news. In Jasper, you won’t find the kind of overdevelopment that has made other mountain resorts disconnected from their surroundings. And especially in today’s depressingly pre-packaged, suburban conformity, increasing disconnected from nature and focused instead on convenience and predictability, authentic, eclectic Jasper truly is a breath of fresh air.

We’re definitely plugged into something real out here. Something that doesn’t follow trends.  We’re a UNESCO World Heritage site. A National Park dedicated to preserving pristine wildness. You come here to visit us because you want to recapture that sense of wonder. Detached from your daytimer. Removed from your routine. But connected to your soul. Is it Jasper time yet?
